Elfin Cove & Cross Sound

North Pass Sealion Colony – Video taken by John Joeright

You can choose to depart from Auke Bay and make your way to Excursion Inlet via Lynn Canal and Icy Straight.  After Stopping in Gustavus at the mouth of Glacier Bay, we will head over to a secluded anchorage in Inian Cove.  Here you will enjoy a magnificent skiff adventure where the main attraction is the sea lion colony.  But the sea otters are pretty cute too!

Elfin cove is a short hop away and you will have time to explore the quaint village boardwalk before having an exquisite dinner of fresh salmon or halibut onboard Shamrock.

Sailing through Cross Sound, we make a left and head up Lisianski Strait at the edge of the infamous Gulf of Alaska to our final stop, Pelican, Alaska.  Walk along the town’s boardwalk.  Even though Pelican is remote and isolated, the locals still know how to entertain themselves (especially on Fourth of July).

Another popular option is to arrive in Elfin Cove by an Alaskan Bush sea plane and experience the unparalleled beauty from the sky. This option allows for more time exploring other Alaskan Bush communities.
